Who we are:

Our Purpose: WOAHSHEN will serve to enhance the partnership between academic institutions in the central west region of southern Ontario and their affiliated teaching hospitals through:

1. Development of a WOAHSHEN-wide strategy to continuously further excellence in health professional education;

2. Integration of WOAHSHEN / University / College education activities;

3. Development of integrated polices to advance excellence in education;

4. Articulation and promotion of a WOAHSHEN / University / College identity and reputation for educational excellence at the provincial, national, and international level;

5. Improving learner experiences between healthcare organizations.

Responsibilities: WOAHSHEN will meet these responsibilities through:

1. High level support for innovation and collaboration among partners, sites, and programs;

2. Interfacing closely with existing Universities’ / Colleges’ / healthcare institutions’ networks;

3. Seeking to engage clinical and professional leaders across the health professions;

4. Collaborating with teaching organizations and educators;

5. Hospital collaboration to introduce innovations and promote education as a single unit;

6. Representation at the Ontario Hospital Association Education Committee (OHAEC);

7. Development of sub-committees.

8. Establishment of working groups and task forces involving other stakeholders and individuals, as appropriate. The Terms of Reference for these bodies shall be approved by WOAHSHEN.
